Two California teens have been accused of feeding a live cat to two dogs near Bakersfield during summer and then sharing the video online.
The boys both 15 and 17 were allegedly heard encouraging the large dogs to attack the cat in the horrific footage posted to a social networking site, reports KERO.
The police began investigating on Dec. 4 after a concerned citizen saw the video and contacted Kern County Animal Control.
Animal Control officers, who've since confirmed the cat is now dead, asked Kern County Sheriff's Office to launch a probe.
Both teens have been arrested on suspicion of causing cruelty to an animal and booked into Juvenile Hall.
Maggie Kalar, from Kern County Animal Services, said the clip was "very disheartening and upsetting."
The dogs are believed to belong to one of the suspect's relatives.
They are not being investigated as authorities do not think they pose a danger as they were being encouraged into the attack, reports Bakersfield Now.
What do they mean? Those dogs should also be examined, they can't be normal anymore after attacking that cat.Labels: dogs eat cat, kern county animal services
