35yr old South African singer, Lulu Dikana, passed away Wednesday
after a brief illness.
The family has given an official statement through her record label, SONY:
"It is with deep sadness that we announce the unexpected and tragic
loss of soul songstress Lulu Dikana who passed away last night after a
short illness while being treated in hospital.
"Our deepest condolences go out to her family, friends and all her
fans who came to know and love her through her music. Funeral details
will be made available as soon as these have been finalised."
Dikana succumbed to her death yesterday evening. The family confirmed
reports this morning. The soul songstress recently accompanied John
Legend on his 'All Of Me' tour and was the only local musician to do
so. She was the sister of Zonke Dikana - herself a successful
musician.
The Dikana family recently lost another sister in May last year and
their father passed away in 2009 while their mother passed several
years ago.
