Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have finally tied the knot. And they kept
the nuptials a complete secret until today.
A publicist for the couple, who have been together for 9yrs and have
six children, told the Associated Press that the wedding took place
Saturday in a small chapel on the property of their sprawling
Provencal estate, Chateau Miraval, in France. The nondenominational
civil ceremony was attended by friends and family.
The movie stars, who met filming Mr. and Mrs. Smith (while he was
famously still married to Jennifer Aniston) April 2012 after seven
years of dating.
Pitt was also adamant that he and Jolie would not get married until
their gay friends had similar rights. That hurdle was cleared last
year when the Supreme Court overturned California's Prop 8, which had
outlawed same-sex weddings.
This is the second marriage for Pitt, who was married to Aniston from
2000 to 2005, and the third for Jolie, whose ex-husbands include Jonny
Lee Miller and Billy Bob Thornton.
